Artist's Statement

Whilst working towards my City and Guilds qualifications I developed an interest in working with a wide variety of materials. I enjoy working three-dimensionally, sometimes exploring the possibility of seeing through layers by using perspex.
My sources are varied and inspiration is often a mixture of ideas, combining the current topic chosen by One Step On with thoughts of my own and experimentation with different materials. The materials themselves often give direction to the work.
Changing skies always fascinate me and I have taken many photographs of them, some of which I have transferred to fabric and used in embroideries.
